Multi-Story Urban Retreat

SDI Architecture was commissioned to design a multi-story villa in an urban setting, tailored for a family seeking both privacy and the flexibility to host guests comfortably. The residence serves as a hybrid space—functioning as a multi-family dwelling while preserving the elegance and flow of a single, cohesive home. The design balances openness and intimacy across multiple floors, with the owners occupying the upper three levels of the structure.

At the heart of the project is the desire to create a welcoming environment for entertaining, whether for extended stays or short weekend gatherings. The lower levels offer generous guest accommodations, including bedrooms and shared living areas that prioritize comfort without encroaching on the family’s private space. Circulation throughout the home was carefully considered to allow guests and residents to navigate fluidly without overlap.

A private rooftop patio crowns the villa, offering a secluded outdoor refuge with expansive views—ideal for quiet reflection or lively evenings under the city skyline. Materials and detailing were chosen to reflect the client’s modern sensibilities while staying rooted in contextual elegance. The final result is a sophisticated, layered home that supports family life, social connection, and urban serenity in equal measure.
